The new owner and operator of the La Costa Resort and Spa, KSL
Recreation Corporation, is planning to launch what promises to be one of the region’s most notable
turnarounds in recent years. While the renaissance of the world-famous property will begin in the coming
months, changes already are taking place from within. KSL will begin offering the spa’s life-enhancement
treatments and world-class services to the public beginning January 1, 2002.
The resort has a longstanding history of attracting spa aficionados who thoroughly enjoy the diversity of
treatments in La Costa’s full-service spa. “With the support of the new ownership, the timing is perfect to
expand our services beyond resort guests and members,” said Sean Handler, Spa Director at La Costa Resort
and Spa. “Our staff’s expertise is renowned as many have specialized for decades in ancient massage
techniques that relax, renew and rejuvenate.”
The Spa offers a broad-array of the latest and most advanced treatments available. Performed by a
professional staff dedicated to improving health and well being, services range from wellness retreats to
custom lifestyle and fitness programs to nutrition counseling to day packages to maternity treatments to more
than 100 al la carte spa specialties. Gathered from every corner of the world, massage techniques range from
aromatherapy, deep tissue therapeutic, reflexology, shiatsu and hot river stones; all designed to bring balance
and healing to the body.

the world’s regime of sciences for thousands of years,” comments Gary Duprat, Lead Men’s Massage
Therapist at La Costa Resort and Spa and Master Skilled Trainer of Hot River Stone Therapy. “Working in
