March 21, 2002 - Looking to spa in the city? Four Seasons is your best bet. Condé Nast Traveler magazine has recognized seven Four Seasons Spas in its top ten list of urban spas. The list is part of a feature in the magazine`s April issue on the Top 40 Spas in North America and the Caribbean. The results are based on feedback from 4,000 readers of the magazine.

Five Four Seasons properties also appeared in the Resort Spa category, with Four Seasons Resort Hualalai topping the list.

“At Four Seasons we recognize that the spa experience is more than a luxury, it’s a way of life,” said Wolf Hengst, President, Worldwide Hotel Operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “As a result, we provide our guests with spa facilities of exceptional quality and an experience they will always remember.”

The Spas at Four Seasons Hotel Boston and Four Seasons Hotel Chicago earned the top scores of all urban spas. The following Four Seasons Hotels also made the list:

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Four Seasons Resort Aviara, Four Seasons Resort Nevis and Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach were noted in the list of the top resort spas.

The criteria for the rankings include the location and setting, the hours of operation, workout facilities, spa treatments and service. Also noted were unique treatments or aspects of each spa, such as the Crushed Pearls and Lavender Body Polish at Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, the Eight-Step Spa Pedicure offered at Four Seasons Hotel New York and the beach side massages offered at Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

“What is most gratifying about this recognition is that it is based on feedback from guests of our hotels,” said Hengst. “It is a reflection of the intuitive, personalized service we provide not only at our spas, but in all aspects of our hotel experience worldwide.”
