LivingWell To Open Health Club In Brazil

LivingWell is set to open a club in São Paulo, Brazil to be located in the luxurious £67 million Hilton Morumbi hotel, scheduled to open in October 2002.

The 1,440 m2 club, located on the top floor of the new 31 storey hotel, is set to be a spectacular addition to LivingWell`s growing international portfolio.

The club will be fitted out to the normal high specification of UK Premier clubs and will feature a cardiovascular gymnasium fitted with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, free weights area and a spacious aerobics studios.

As part of LivingWell’s holistic approach to health and fitness, members will be able to wind down in one of two saunas with two large adjacent relaxation rooms, and a spa pool.

The showcase of the club will be a stunning 15-metre swimming pool, which is fully glazed and offers spectacular views over the city of São Paulo, one of the fastest growing cities in the world.

 

Both members and non-members will be able to enjoy pampering treatments in The Sensory, LivingWell’s unique hair and beauty concept, consisting of a relaxation room and three treatment rooms. Members will also be able to relax and enjoy refreshments in the club`s café bar area.

The health and fitness market in São Paulo is reported to be “growing at *20 per cent per annum” and the club has a target working population of 35,000 within five minutes walk of the new facility.

 

LivingWell will manage the design and fit out and opening of the club on a fee basis, and thereafter it will be operated under a franchise agreement and will receive support from LivingWell`s Franchise department and specialist units.

 

The health club operator currently has a UK portfolio of 84 clubs, with three further clubs set to open later this year. LivingWell`s international portfolio consists of five clubs in Australia, and one club in Malta, Germany and Turkey.
