Livingwell Set To Open First Health Club In Germany

LivingWell, the UK’s largest health club operator, is planning to open its first luxury health club in Germany at the Dresden Hilton Hotel in April this year.

The club, which will stretch for over 10,000 square feet (900m2), will feature a swimming pool, a gym equipped with the latest range of equipment and extensive spa and beauty areas. The spa area will include a steam room, three saunas’s, a jacuzzi and an outside hot tub.

Members will also be able to pamper themselves in style at The Sensory, LivingWell’s latest concept in beauty therapy, which will include three treatment rooms and two sun beds.

Iris Groll, 31, has been appointed as manager of the Hilton Dresden’s LivingWell health club and she will be supported by Grit Velek as assistant manager. Iris, a graduate of sports science at Hamburg University, has extensive experience in Health Club management. LivingWell will now recruit locally for receptionists and a team of instructors who will be on hand to give fitness advice and develop fitness programmes for members.

£1.75 million (DM5.4 million) is being spent on extending and re-furbishing the existing facilities at the Hilton Dresden to ensure that LivingWell’s first Health Club in Germany will provide its members with a top class fitness and beauty facility. The LivingWell group is currently investigating further health club opportunities throughout Germany.
