Body Souffle at Westward Look
TUCSON, AZ - Whether it`s winter or summer, even well-cared for skin can use a revitalizing boost- like the new Body Scrub Soufflé available only at the Wellness Center at Westward Look Resort in Tucson, Arizona.
This aromatic and deep-moisturizing body treatment features skin-detoxifying salts, minerals and clay whipped together with deep-moisturizing shea butter and aloe, plus fragrant lemon grass, lavender and ginger. This sensuous product is rubbed over the entire body to exfoliate the skin. Then, while the body is wrapped and the lemon-ginger aroma encourages relaxation, the shea butter and aloe melt into the skin. In the final cleansing step, steaming towels are used to reveal new supple skin
A resort guest had this new treatment in the morning, then went to the pool. She was so effusive about her smooth, soft skin that seven other guests booked soufflé treatments the same day. The new 55-minute Body Scrub Soufflé treatment costs $79. The spa also sells three Get Fresh Body Soufflés for healthy home skin care - available in eucalyptus, apricot or lemongrass/lavender for $24.
Spa manager Debra Henrickson said, “Summer and winter are both hard on the skin, especially in the desert. Many people use facial care products and lotions routinely - but neglect to exfoliate the skin so it can absorb the added moisture. It`s very healthy for the skin to be stimulated, exfoliated and thoroughly moisturized.”
The Wellness Center at Westward Look Resort uses native botanicals, warm stones and cleansing muds as the foundation all its desert-inspired spa treatments. Guests experience the benefits of therapeutic herbs and other native plants that have been used by indigenous Southwest people for centuries. They can even see these natural healers as they grow in the resort`s Wellness Garden.
The signature Three Muds Deluxe is one of the most popular treatments in the Wellness Center, a sensual experience that combines elements of three ancient spa traditions - the mud bath, the herbal wrap and the body massage. Sedona Red is placed on the body`s “chakras” or energy points. Catalina Dust is applied to the face and feet. Pevonia Moor mud is used on the body to cleanse it of toxins. The guest is wrapped in sheets and guided through the relaxing “Desert Breath.” An aromatherapy facial massage and a half-session body massage make this the ultimate 80-minute pampering experience.
Another treatment available only at Westward Look Resort is the “Bath in a Boot” Foot Refresher, where the feet are soaked in a purifying footbath, followed by a gentle exfoliation of dry skin. Then essential oils are applied as the feet are massaged with a tension-relief gel to stimulate circulation.
The Wellness Center at Westward Look Resort serves both local residents and resort guests. Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the spa or the privacy of the guest`s room. The Wellness Center offers six types of massage, seven body treatments, three facials and other treatments. All-cotton robes, reflexology sandals and all-natural spa products also are available.
