Six Senses Strengthens Core Management Team

Bangkok, July, 2002 - Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas, the operator of unique luxury hotels and resorts in Asia is strengthening its core management team with the addition of two new team members.
Raymond Hall joins as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, while Paul Rene Lee has been appointed Chief Operating Officer complementing the existing line up of Chairman Sonu Shivdasani, Creative Director Eva Shivdasani, Managing Director Bernard Bohnenberger, Group Director Finance, G Narasimhan and Executive Director Giorgio Burigana. The new Six Senses Core Team is pictured in the attached photograph.
The two new appointments arise from the group’s rapid expansion, which includes additional worldwide sales and marketing offices and the opening of three new resorts late last year; Soneva Gili Resort & Spa in The Maldives, and The Evason Hua Hin Resort & Spa and The Evason Phuket Resort & Spa in Thailand. Further new resort developments in Thailand are also expected to be announced shortly.
Raymond Hall joins as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer from Bass Hotels & Resorts where he held the role of Director Operations Support, AsiaPacific. During this tenure, Ray also managed the trendy Pier One Parkroyal Sydney Harbour for a period.
Ray’s core executive role at Six Senses includes the development of marketing and communication initiatives, directing the worldwide sales and marketing offices and affiliates, and brand development.
Paul Lee joins Six Senses from Raffles International where he held the roles of Vice President - Operations and General Manager for Swissotel The Stamford - Singapore. During his tenure, Paul was responsible for the transition of the Westin Stamford and Westin Plaza - Singapore to entities under Raffles International.
Paul’s core role at Six Senses includes overseeing the operational aspects of the Resorts, Spas and Retail operations.
Raymond Hall - Detailed Biography: Raymond Hall is Chief Sales & Marketing Officer for Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas. He joined Six Senses in 2002 from Bass Hotels & Resorts where he held the role of Director Operations Support AsiaPacific. During this tenure, Ray also managed the trendy Pier One Parkroyal Sydney Harbour for a period.

Ray began his hospitality career by joining Inter-Continental Hotels in the New York Corporate Office and was initially responsible for establishing worldwide in-hotel merchandising programmes. This evolved to a role that included the development and custodianship of global corporate identity, media, product branding, marketing design and all visual elements of the group.
After eighteen years with Inter-Continental, the opportunity to develop the first Amman Resort in Australia enticed Ray back to his country of birth. This was followed by the purchases of his own boutique hotel, which he developed, marketed and operated.
A four-year stint with Indonesia’s PT Aerowisata saw his significant contribution to a robust expansion of the group, focusing on all aspects of international marketing. This was followed by consultative projects with the World Bank and Cypress Lakes Group.


A keen traveller, Ray has visited more than 50 countries and, so far, lived in the United States, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia. He attended Melbourne’s Scotch College and later studied interior and graphic design at Swinbourne College.
Paul Rene Lee - Detailed Biography: Paul Rene Lee is the Chief Operating Officer for Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas. He joined Six Senses in June 2002 from Raffles International where he held the roles of Vice President - Operations and General Manager for Swissotel The Stamford - Singapore. During his tenure, Paul was responsible for the transition of the Westin Stamford and Westin Plaza - Singapore to entities under Raffles International.
After studying at Washington State University, USA and graduating with honours, Paul began his career with the Westin Century Plaza, Los Angeles and later assisted in the opening of the Westin Stamford and Westin Plaza - Singapore.

Paul’s career has included tenures with Westin, Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental and Hotel Properties Limited, and most recently with Raffles International. He has lived in the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan during this time. Rising through the ranks of food and beverage roles, his areas of responsibility expanded across the operations, eventually taking on corporate operational positions.

Six Senses is a Hotel and Resort Management and Development Company established in 1995, which owns the award-winning Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives and manages hotels and resorts under the brand names Soneva and Evason.
