Raffles Int. Adds a New Dimension to the Guest Experience

Raffles International Limited (RIL) is launching worldwide a unique, new, luxury spa brand—- AMRITA. Amrita Spas will shortly open in Raffles Hotel and Raffles City, in the heart of the central business district of Singapore. By August this year, four additional Amrita Spas are slated to commence operations in Merchant Court Sydney, Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh and Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Siem Reap, bringing the total to six. RIL will be adding seven more Amrita spas in the next 18 months in its hotels that are currently under development. With thirteen spas in the Group, RIL will operate one of the largest international spa networks.
The RIL spa brand derives its name from the ancient Sanskrit legend in which, from the beginning of time, deities searched for Amrita, an elixir that would give them eternal youth. This legendary assurance of renewal is a commitment that RIL will deliver to every guest at its Amrita Spas.
The spa segment of the hospitality market has been highly profitable and in the past years, the international spa industry has seen an annual growth of between 20 to 30%.  Industry research findings indicate that the profit margin for hotel spa operations is in excess of 70%.  RIL recognises that spa experience is increasingly high on the agenda of the affluent and discerning business and leisure travellers who are our primary market. Based on research conducted by the International Spa and Fitness Association, statistics over a ten year study revealed that the greatest growth areas for spa-going are in the incentive travel market and in
the male market
Mr Richard C Helfer, Chairman and CEO of Raffles International said, “In developing our new concepts, we always ensure that they are directly related to and will enhance our core hotel business. Apart from adding a new and exciting dimension to our guest experience, Amrita Spas are another revenue stream, which we believe we can successfully tap. So that our Amrita Spas provide an experience beyond expectation, we have combined the inputs of our guests with the expertise of international spa consultants, and added to that, the Raffles International touch-quintessentially service like a gentle breeze.”
Amrita Spa at Raffles City, designed by renowned Richmond International from the United Kingdom, will serve as the flagship of Amrita Spas.  The facilities occupy over 50,000 square ft, spread over three floors and have more than 40 treatment rooms. There is no equivalent facility in Asia in terms of scale and the extensive range of spa and fitness services provided. Amrita Spa at Raffles City offers an integrated range of spa and salon services, cutting-edge fitness facilities and Amrita Spa cuisine.  Separate spa facilities have been specially created for women and men, with VIP spa suites to cater for couples who prefer to receive treatments together.
Therapies offered at Amrita Spas have been carefully selected from around the world with their appeal heightened by an array of treatments, ranging from ancient rituals to modern-day techniques, promoting wellness for the body, mind and soul. A key feature of Amrita Spas is signature treatments, which have been specially created using our private label spa products.
Amrita Spas, managed by Raffles International, will deliver standards of excellence that has become synonymous with the Raffles International master brand.
