Vacation.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amadeus, and North America`s largest vacation-selling network, today announced the acquisition of Action 6, a significant and profitable leisure travel network with a strong representation in New England and Florida, and members spread throughout the United States.
The acquisition of Action 6 brings the combined total number of Vacation.com travel agency members to over 10,000.
Vacation.com is a travel services marketing company with a membership network focused on leisure travel distribution, accounting for approximately 25 percent of all travel agencies in North America.
Action 6, founded in 1976, has a membership of 2000 travel agencies serving all sectors of the leisure travel market. The business is based in Lowell, Massachusetts. Action 6 members book over 20 million travel segments annually, almost a quarter of which are currently processed through Amadeus.
Following the acquisition, Action 6 will be immediately integrated within the Vacation.com operations based in Alexandria, Virginia, and will be re-branded Vacation.com.
