The launch of Tenzing`s email and Web service on Singapore Airlines marks the beginning of a full fleet roll-out of the Tenzing Global service, which will enable Singapore Airlines passengers to send and receive email as well as browse Web content while in flight.
Passengers on Singapore Airlines flights will connect to the onboard server using Singapore Airlines` advanced inflight entertainment system, and can plug their laptops into the existing ports. Email is sent and received via satellite connections and users will have access to free “Best of the Web” content via the Tenzing service, including news, stocks and sports scores which are updated continuously throughout the flight.
The Tenzing service will be free to passengers through September of this year, as Singapore Airlines integrates the system into its fleet of aircraft.
