Guests at the new Le Meridien Chicago will have high-speed Internet access and the most advanced technological amenities available in-room with the Unisys [email protected] InRoom Connect Solution.
From an Internet portal customised for guests of the hotel, travellers can experience premium on-line hotel services, such as room service menus and convention information, as well as high-speed Web surfing, entertainment, music, business and local news, weather and extensive city information. Scheduled to open in May 2001, Le Meridien Chicago will Web-enable all 311 guest rooms with the Unisys [email protected] InRoom Connect Solution. Initially, 40 rooms will be wired with high-speed Internet access and a thin-client computing terminal with flat-panel monitor.
Another 271 rooms will be wired with high-speed Ethernet jacks for those travellers who might need their own computer to access proprietary software, but still want to enjoy the same fast connection and customised on-line hotel services. The server-based system enables Unisys and Le Meridien Chicago to add new features to the InRoom Connect solution to deliver additional services to guests.
Following the initial deployment, Unisys and Le Meridien Chicago intend to deliver additional value-added services to frequent guests by integrating InRoom Connect with the hotel`s CRM tools.
