Wayport Inc., the traveler`s choice for wired and wireless high-speed Internet access in hotels and airports, has enhanced its solution to offer increased convenience for travelers, along with valuable marketing and branding opportunities for hotel properties offering the Wayport service.
New features include the Wayport Welcome Page, network printing, tiered pricing for extended stay properties and a set of Web-based tools enabling hotel staff to manage the Wayport service at their properties.
``Wayport has been serving the hospitality industry longer than any other high-speed Internet provider, and we`re continually seeking to improve our solution by gathering feedback from hotels and their guests,`` said Dave Vucina, chief executive officer of Wayport. ``These enhancements reflect our commitment to satisfy the evolving needs of today`s travelers and help our location partners achieve the highest levels of guest service.``
The Wayport Welcome Page provides an intuitive interface for guest Internet access that is consistent across Wayport-enabled properties. Via the Welcome Page, guests may connect to Wayport`s service in guestrooms, meeting rooms and public areas, as well as accessing special services such as network printing. The new Welcome Page supports a variety of payment options such as coupons, tiered pricing, affinity programs and Wayport member access.
The Welcome Page prominently displays the hotel brand logo and offers options for promoting hotel affinity programs and linking to the hotel home page. In addition, the Welcome Page provides a vehicle for hotels to offer value-added services to their guests. For example, hotels may wish to offer all guests free access to limited Web content such as the hotel Web site, or they may wish to offer free connectivity to their frequent guests.
The optional network printing feature allows hotel guests to print documents, Web content and email messages directly from their laptops to a printer in a secure location on the hotel property. Users may print from guestrooms, meeting rooms and wireless-enabled public areas such as the lobby. A cover page with guest identification information and total transaction cost is generated with each print job, and charges are added to the guest folio.
With tiered pricing, guests at extended stay properties may purchase connection bundles in advance for multiple days of Wayport access. Guests purchasing these connection packages receive a discount over regular daily rates.
The Property Resource Center is a valuable, Web-based tool that enables hotels to monitor and manage the usage of the Wayport Internet service at their properties. Designated hotel personnel may access this secure extranet Web site to view usage reports, property statistics and Wayport documentation. A meeting room control panel automates the process of setting up meetings by allowing hotel staff to enable, disable or password-protect meeting room ports remotely.
