The recent consolidation of the two companies brings together Volando`s superior technology and a portfolio of more than 6,000 negotiated travel products and Stella Barros` brand recognition in Brazil, leisure travel products portfolio, superior customer service, and more than 40 years in the market. Volando, based in Miami Beach, acquired Stella Barros, headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in December 2000. As a result, Volando and Stella Barros` combined “Brick & Click” model now allows consumers to choose how to access travel products and services based on their individual preferences.
Among Volando`s competitive advantages is the unique Booking Engine, developed in partnership with Sabre
Holdings. It is the first Booking Engine to simultaneously search for thlowest airfares and travel dates while also displaying alternate available dates in a single screen.
As part of the merger, new Web sites were launched offering several innovative features, including a “Package Channel” and a “Tours Channel.” Together, these features represent the broadest assortment of vacation planning tools available in the on-line market. They also include a “Negotiated Air Fare Alerts” section displaying the most competitive air-fare pricing in the Latin American region.
