Due to launch in June, Orbitz is deploying Micromuse’s Netcool suite of realtime fault management and service assurance software, as the network management foundation of its Web-based airline booking service.
According to Russ Kieckhafer, Director of Operations for Orbitz, the Netcool suite will help them increase their operating efficiency by streamlining the management of their diverse network equipment and services. It will provide critical realtime status of their services delivery infrastructure.
Orbitz is deploying Micromuse applications including Micromuse`s flagship Netcool/OMNIbus application, the Netcool/Internet Service Monitors (Netcool/ISMs) suite, and the Netcool/Impact and Netcool/Precision applications.
Combined, the Netcool solutions are providing 24/7 status monitoring of Orbitz`s advanced architecture and helping to maintain the availability and reliability of its online airline reservation and booking services.
Generation E Consulting, an authorised Micromuse reseller, was responsible for licensing the Netcool software to Orbitz and will lead the integration of the Netcool suite, while providing network and managed service integration of the system, including comprehensive training, consultancy and support services.
