Hotels are recognising that business travellers expect more from their hotel accommodations, and many are making moves to equip rooms with high-tech tools, according to a Cahners In-Stat survey.* Approximately 73% of hotels are considering high-speed Web access for hotel rooms.
* 56% of hotels considering high-speed access plan to wire at least half of their guest rooms, about 100 rooms minimum for the average hotel.
* 82% of hotels with more than 60% business clientele are considering broadband for hotel rooms.
* Fees for broadband service will vary; plans include per-night charges, per-minute charges, or flat fees.
