Outrigger Hotels Adopts TDS
Online bookings through breakthrough leisure accommodation b2b solution Hawaii-based hotel chain Outrigger has signed an agreement with MIC (Mirror Image Communications) to adopt its groundbreaking Total Distribution System (TDS).
The deal will allow Outrigger Hotels and Resorts, one of the Pacific`s fastest growing lodging chains, to trade more efficiently with key domestic and international operators. Outrigger will initially link its hotels in Hawaii to TDS, adding further locations in the near future.
TDS is the first b2b system for the leisure accommodation supply chain. Harnessing intelligent technology, it enables all participants in the chain to make bookings electronically according to current contractual and confidentiality arrangements.
Outrigger will use an electronic two-way connection from TDS to their central reservation system (CRS), to offer seamless reservations and instant responses to booking requests. The switch connection to TDS will be provided by Wizcom International, one of the world`s leading hotel switch providers.
Said Peter Jenkins, Outrigger`s vice president, sales and market development: “The leisure market forms the most significant segment of our business at Outrigger so we are delighted to be working with MIC to improve our offering. TDS will allow us to strengthen our global leisure operator partnerships, reduce costs and improve yield.”
Said MIC Americas` managing director Andy Cook: “TDS`s fast connectivity to Outrigger`s central reservation system will improve the company`s ability to maximise revenue. TDS will also enable Outrigger to distribute extra inventory and special offers more efficiently.”
