Datalex and South African Airways (SAA) have announced the launch of SAA`s re-designed Web site, flysaa.com
, providing a wide range of consumer travel services including flight, hotel and car hire pricing and availability with online booking facilities.
SAA`s travellers also use the site to check real-time flight status, request delay notification via Short Messaging Service (SMS) and review in-flight features and services, all powered by BookIt! Consumer, Dalatex`s state-of-the-art online travel-booking engine.
The contract extends the scope of Datalex solutions provided to SAA, which has already received Datalex`s ARIVA AccountProfile sales force automation software and ARIVA MarketProfile data-mining and data-analysis software. SAA is the top airline in Africa, operating more flights to more destinations on the African continent than any other carrier.
This powerful new e-Commerce initiative is expected to enhance SAA`s service to its customers, increase Internet-based consumer traffic and business in its home market, and create a new global distribution channel for SAA`s travel services. flysaa.com`s booking service is currently available only for travel bookings originating and ticketed in South Africa, with plans under way to offer flysaa.com products in the UK, US and Germany.
