The global reservations system also unveils Hotel Loyalty Display with Marriott as initial participant.
Worldspan today announced the introduction of two new enhancements to its global reservations system: Worldspan Integrated Hotel Source® Rate Range and Worldspan Hotel Loyalty Display. Marriott International is the initial participant in both ground-breaking new products.
Integrated Hotel Source Rate Range, the industry`s first solution of its kind, provides Worldspan travel agents with first-screen rate range information for all branded hotel properties directly from the participating hotel company`s internal reservation system. Combined with Worldspan Integrated Hotel Source Availability, another Worldspan exclusive, Integrated Hotel Source Rate Range allows agents to shop for hotel properties on the first screen with real-time rate range and availability status, saving time and enhancing customer service.
Hotel Loyalty Display enables Worldspan users to quickly identify all hotel brands in a given destination participating in frequent guest programmes with a selected hotel. With Hotel Loyalty Display, travel agents can offer an additional client service-the ability to search by loyalty programme preference-and participating hotel companies are better able to market properties based on brand recognition.
“Worldspan is committed to providing automation tools that deliver more information faster and with fewer steps, helping travel agents and suppliers alike sell more effectively,” commented Jesse Liebman, senior vice president and general manager - Worldwide Travel Supplier Services for Worldspan. “Integrated Hotel Source Rate Range and Hotel Loyalty Display clearly fulfil that goal, and we are pleased that Marriott has chosen to participate first in both products.”
“Thanks to Worldspan`s industry-leading Hotel Source technology, with a single entry, travel agents now have access to real-time availability and rate range information for all Marriott properties, the same data used by our internal reservations staff,” said Bruce Wolf, senior vice president - Distribution Sales and Marketing for Marriott International. “This expanded Hotel Source functionality, together with Hotel Loyalty Display, offers agents a greater level of comfort and confidence when booking Marriott brands.”
