Southwest Airlines tickets are now no longer available through Travelocity.com
, following customer service concerns that were to have been resolved by 1st March.
Inventory had to be obtained through a teletype system to Southwest and this had resulted in passengers turning up for a Southwest flight that had in fact, no seats available.
Sabre had requested that Southwest upgrade their technology to provide a more immediate interface, but the carrier decided not to do so. Southwest estimated that sales through Travelocity accounted for less than 1% of their revenue.
Southwest will now be selling on the Internet purely via their own site.
