Gorp.Com Celebrates 6th Anniversary With 14 New Partnerships

GORP.com (Great Outdoor Recreation Pages), the most visited site for outdoor enthusiasts and active travelers, entered its seventh year this month and celebrates with the announcement of fourteen new strategic partners.
The announcement also coincides with the launch of GORP’s programming on several America Online brands.
“It’s an exciting time for us,” said Bill Greer, founder and CEO of GORP.com
. “We are expanding our audience by leaps, and have already enjoyed a 25% increase in traffic since the new year. Plus, it is a great acknowledgement of the value of our content and the market demand for an active travel resource.”
Last week, GORP launched co-branded sites across several of the America Online brands, including AOL, CompuServe and Netscape.com, as part of the content agreement with America Online the company announced in November 2000. In addition, GORP content and applications, such as the popular Trail Finder, Park Finder, Event Finder and Trip Finder Tools are integrated and linked within AOL’s Parks and Camping and Adventure/Outdoors areas. The America Online brands now feature GORP’s highly acclaimed Top Ten features and Getting Started sections for outdoor activities.
In addition to America Online, the following companies have all signed agreements with GORP.com to distribute content and provide their audience with access to GORP’s active travel and dude ranch vacations:

With the addition of broadband provider Vast Video as a partner, the GORP user now has access to a library of videos to help them research and experience the excitement of active travel and outdoor recreation. Videos, for example, showing the rugged New Zealand coastline, or the exotic plains of Tanzania, help would-be travelers to choose the trip that best meets their ideals. GORP also has forged an alliance with High Speed Access Corp. (NASDAQ: HSAC) a leading broadband services provider, which allows subscribers to access GORP.com faster and easier than over conventional modem speeds. High Speed Access Corp. currently has over 100,000 cable modem subscribers.
