Pegasus Solutions, Inc. today announced its Phoenix-based Application Service Processing business unit has completed implementation of technology services for the Moat House Hotels brand of Queens Moat Houses plc.
The services are being provided as part of a broader agreement reached last year that includes central reservations system (CRS) and Internet reservations capabilities. London-based Queens Moat Houses currently operates 92 three- to five-star hotels under its three divisions: Moat House Hotels in the United Kingdom, Queens Hotels in Germany, and Bilderberg Hotels & Restaurants in the Netherlands. Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions is a leading provider of hotel industry transaction processing solutions and electronic commerce services.
Within this technology services agreement, the Queens Moat Houses` U.K. division has migrated properties to the Pegasus RezView(R) CRS in Phoenix, allowing for a centralized approach to managing hotel inventory and room rate data. Reservations agents at Queens Moat Houses` central reservations office (CRO) in the United Kingdom can access this CRS to make real-time reservations at the 40 hotels within the Moat House Hotels operation. In the first quarter of 2001, Pegasus` ASP will begin providing Queens Moat Houses with a two-way interface between the hotel company`s CRS and the property management system (PMS) at each of its Moat House Hotels properties in the United Kingdom.
Key components of the technology agreement also include Pegasus providing Moat House Hotels with seamless connectivity to the global distribution systems (GDSs), such as Sabre and Galileo, for travel agent bookings. In addition, Pegasus is “powering” the online hotel reservations for Moat House Hotels branded Web site, www.moathousehotels.com.
Pegasus Solutions` Alan White, senior vice president, Application Service Processing, said, “We are helping Moat House Hotels to achieve a single image inventory across over 6,000 rooms in the United Kingdom. Our technological approach will help them manage room distribution and revenue growth both at property level and also centrally. We are pleased to be an active part of Moat House Hotels` room distribution strategy.”
Achieving real-time availability across all its distribution channels is a crucial goal for Moat House Hotels, according to Mike Jones, sales and marketing director for Moat House Hotels. “At Moat House Hotels, our continued success is reliant upon adopting management systems that allow us greater control over areas such as rooms distribution and revenue management. Pegasus was a good fit for our needs. Its use of proven technologies to streamline processes for efficient operation was ideal for our requirements,” Jones said. “We are confident that the Pegasus system and organization will keep a leading hotel company, such as ours, abreast of the most advanced technologies and services available in the hotel industry.”
In addition, Moat House Hotels will be able to receive real-time Internet reservations through its own branded site, which will be “Powered by Pegasus(TM)” using Pegasus` NetBooker Custom(TM) booking engine. The Moat House Hotels site at www.moathousehotels.com is the first of Queens Moat Houses` branded Web sites to implement NetBooker Custom.
