Corporate Online Bookings Set To Grow

Although just 1% of corporate bookings are made online in the UK at the moment, this number is expected to increase towards the end of 2001, with an aggressive take-up next year.
That is the view of George Hayes, Amex director of interactive travel, according to a report in the Travel Trade Gazette.
Mr Hayes`s comments coincided with the publication of an Amex-commissioned report on transaction fees conducted by air transport lecturers at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire, UK. The report concludes travel management companies must move to fees or face going out of business and also suggests that business travel agents need to become consultants.
