South Korea`s two airlines, Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, signed letters of intent Wednesday to establish a joint online travel agency.
It is the first project between the nation`s airlines.
The web site will go online in the second half of the year after a joint commission from the two airlines decides how the two airlines will share ownership of the new firm and assigns business partners in marketing and technology.
Orbitz, created by five U.S. airlines, may be the technology partner of the new travel agency, an industry source said.
The agency will provide services on flights and international hotel bookings, rental car reservations and other travel information.
