Hilton International Chooses Concord to Monitor Mission-Critical Applications

Concord Communications, the market leader in solutions that maximize the availability and performance of the Internet infrastructure, today announced that Hilton International, the hotel and leisure group, has chosen its Application Health solution to manage and measure mission-critical applications on its global network.
Concord`s Application Health, part of the eHealth solution suite, is the first out-of-the-box product to measure end-to-end performance of meaningful business transactions for the broadest range of packaged enterprise applications, as well as custom applications. It is designed to leverage current IT management investments including frameworks, servers, networks and helpdesk solutions.
“Application Health will enable us to quantify actual system performance and effectively monitor the performance across our network and core applications,” said Sandy Riach, director of standards and technology, Hilton International. “Key business systems must always be available for users whenever they need them. We`re now looking to incorporate this information into a more extensive end-to-end monitoring program for each corporate application.”
“It is critical that key business applications are available 24 x 7,” said Nigel Pugh, UK country manager, Concord Communications. “One hour of downtime could mean millions of lost dollars to a huge corporation like Hilton International. Concord is pleased to provide Hilton International with that peace of mind and the ability to monitor the end-to-end performance of their core applications.”
Hilton International, with more than 220 hotels in over 50 countries and 14,000 users, has a global TCP/IP based network and utilizes a three-tier architecture using Windows clients and Sun powered Oracle databases.
