Hotelswitch.Com Selects XENON®Crs To Manage Reservations Optims S.A. To Support European Leader

Westport, CT, USA, Hotel Data Systems is pleased to announce that HotelSwitch.comhas selected the Internet enabled xenonå®CRS central reservation system, as itå‘s the booking engine. xenonå®CRS, which also operates in a å“superå” -thin client architecture, will be installed at the companyå‘s call center with the ability to handle Web, Voice, GDS, Property reservations and full Internet connectivity.
The announcement was made by Paris based Optims S.A, which was responsible for the sale of the system, and will be responsible for the installation and support of the software. In order to deliver a fully integrated solution to HotelSwitch.com, Optims selected the xenon®CRS technological platform, including source codes, to provide real-time online booking capability for the European leader in on line reservations. “The decision to use xenon®CRS was predicated by our long term relationship with HDS. Optims and HDS have a number of software and marketing synergies, and this installation of xenon®CRS makes this relationship even closer,” commented Antoine Medawar, CEO of Optims. Optims also announced that it has taken a 39 % minority stake in HotelSwitch.com.
HotelSwitch.com currently receives reservations requests through an Internet-based site. Their call-center manually calls hotels to check availability. The reservation is then confirmed to the customer through e-mail. According to Elie de Coignac, the CEO of HotelSwitch.com, “Installation of this software by Optims, will give us a competitive advantage in this market of Internet distribution of hotel rooms.” The installation of the powerful xenon®CRS will enable HotelSwitch.com to manage their on-line reservations with automated reservations delivery. In addition, call center services will be available for voice based reservations. With the installation of this robust software, HotelSwitch.com becomes the first European Web site to offer online booking, directly connected to the PMS and to electronic distribution channels (Internet, WAP, and PDA).
