Survey Shows Explosive Online Growth

While the markets continue to view e-commerce stocks with some suspicion, it appears that consumers are who leheartedly embracing online travel sites. According to the PhoCusWright 2000 Travel E-Commerce Survey, 21 million people in the U.S. have bought travel products online this year, nearly doubling the Internet travel market for the second consecutive year.7 million of those now buy their travel exclusively online and cite cost savings as the major factor in choosing to buy their travel this way.
Reliability (20%), ease-of-use (16%) and customer service (9%) follow as other important factors in making the choice.
