Brown takes over sales role for Amadeus European Cruise Line

Amadeus has announced the appointment of Garry Brown as its European Cruise Line sales manager.

This move follows Amadeus’ announcement last year of its plans to develop and expand on its existing cruise business in the UK and Europe.

Brown has been brought on-board to keep advancing the company’s expansion in the cruise market by generating growth in the UK and within Europe.

His responsibilities will include supporting the company’s cruise line partners, increasing the profile of Amadeus’s newest cruise shopping and booking tool

“Cruise Shop” and building stronger relationships with key cruise booking agencies and specialists.

Brown brings over 20 years’ travel industry experience to Amadeus.

He has joined Amadeus from Opodo Cruise, once part of the Amadeus group of companies, where he headed up the cruise department.

Brown said: “I’m delighted to be taking on a position like this at such a pivotal stage in the company’s expansion into cruise.

“I am confident that my experience and industry contacts will support Amadeus’ continued growth within this flourishing sector, which has a lot to offer travel sellers and providers.”

Eric Gignoux, head of land and sea travel distribution at Amadeus said: “Garry’s knowledge of existing distribution practices, trends and future models combined with a deep understanding of the cruise industry will be a great addition to Amadeus and its customers.

“Our appointment of Garry coincides nicely with our ambitions to develop the Cruise distribution business within UK and Europe.

“We look forward to Garry’s contribution to our continued growth.”
