British Airways is adding an additional flight to Shanghai this December, taking the number of services from five to six flights a week as of December 4, 2009. The decision has been taken due to increased customer demand on the popular route over the past year.
BA’s regional general manager Far East, Kevin McQuillan, said: “We need to meet the needs of our customers, and make travel as comfortable and convenient as possible for them. That’s the reason we are adding the new flight to Shanghai.”
Shanghai is a thriving metropolis boasting gleaming skyscrapers, tree-lined avenues, colonial restaurants and trendy bars. As China’s largest city and often regarded as the centre of finance and trade in mainland China, Shanghai was an obvious destination for BA to expand its service by increasing the number flights.
British Airways also offers a range of hotels in Shanghai, from 3* budget hotels for the price-conscious through sophisticated 4* hotels like the Rendezvous Merry which is conveniently located in heart of the commercial district Shanghai, to 5* resorts like The PuLi Hotel and Spa or the Pudong Shangri-La. The PuLi Hotel and Spa is an Urban Resort Concept and a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. As one of the world’s 500 best hotels (Travel + Leisure 2009), the prestigious 5* Pudong Shangri-La with its breathtaking views of the legendary riverfront, the Bund is the perfect choice for a once in a lifetime luxury holiday in Shanghai.
All hotels offer superb service and are ideal for business and leisure travellers alike, in great city locations. To mark the launch of the new flight, British Airways has reduced prices at all hotels in Shanghai until the end of the year.
