British Airways adds more sun flights direct from London City

British Airways has announced it is to offer 39 leisure flights per week this summer from London City Airport to top sun destinations at the height of the season.

The airline is launching two new routes to Faro and Malaga in June and adding more frequency to the popular destinations of Nice, Palma and Ibiza.

The four times a week flights to Faro start on June 7 and the three times a week flights to Malaga start on June 8. Both routes will operate year round.

The existing Nice service will increase to double daily flights from May until September, and from July to September both Palma and Ibiza will be increased from four to ten a week.

Flights are operated by wholly owned British Airways’ subsidiary BA CityFlyer, on the new Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft.

Luke Hayhoe, BA CityFlyer commercial manager said: “We first launched leisure only flights from London City last year in direct response to demand from our customers. They proved so popular, particularly during the summer months that we have decided to expand them further this year.

“The addition of two extra aircraft to the fleet means we can also offer year round services to the summer and winter sun destinations of Malaga and Faro.”
