Borges appointed director of room operations at The Wellesley

The Wellesley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in London’s Knightsbridge has announced the promotion of Andre Borges to director of room operations.

Formerly the boutique hotel’s rooms manager, Borges is now responsible for the day-to-day operation of its 36 guest rooms and suites.

He joined the hotel in the reception department in October 2014, being promoted to rooms manager before taking on his new role.

Overlooking Royal Hyde Park, The Wellesley is London’s premier boutique-grand hotel.

Featuring art-deco interiors, it boasts the finest Italian food, outstanding service, stylish live music performances and a distinguished collection of the world’s finest spirits and cigars.

Commenting on his new appointment, Borges said: “I have seen the hotel go from strength to strength since joining the team four years ago, so I am thrilled to be taking on this new role.

“An outstanding level of service is at the heart of what we offer, so I’m looking forward to maintaining this to provide our guests with a luxurious stay in London.”

Borges is originally from Portugal and speaks fluent Portuguese, English and Spanish.
