Booking an airport hotel becomes a race against time in 2012

Good news for agents. A customer poll by Holiday Extras has revealed that more than a quarter of Brits have absolutely no interest in the Olympics, which indicates that an escape abroad during the Games is likely to be high on people’s agenda.

Holiday Extras has secured good hotel availability during this period at hotels surrounding the London airports (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted).

In spite of recent news about a hike in hotel rates, Holiday Extras has put together some excellent deals to help agents offer their customers the best deal.

At Gatwick, an overnight stay at the luxury Felbridge Hotel and Spa plus 15 days’ holiday parking starts from just £149. Or the three-star Days Hotel with eight days’ on-airport parking starts from as little as £111. A triple room at the Holiday Inn Gatwick Worth will attract families at just £140 plus eight days’ parking at the hotel.

At Heathrow, a family room at the four-star Marriott with eight days’ parking starts from £204* or a double room at the Park Inn plus eight days’ secured parking is £288.

James Lewis, Head of Online Partnerships at Holiday Extras, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity to boost earnings during this peak travel period.

“Airport hotel rooms will be at a premium this summer with so many Olympic tourists arriving in the UK. Encouraging your customers to book early is a great way to offer them the best choice during this busy period.”

Holiday Extras polled 5,025 customers during February 2012.

All hotel plus parking prices are based on a search made in March for July 28, 2012. All prices are subject to change and availability.
