Bon Appétit at Peter Island Resort & Spa
Bon Appétit will become a popular phrase during the month of May, as Peter Island Resort & Spa in the British Virgin Islands hosts Parisian born Chef Richard Farnabe. Peter Island Executive Chef Lisa Sellers has lured Chef Farnabe, a celebrated Manhattan Chef, who studied and worked with internationally acclaimed chefs Daniel Boulud and Jean-George Vongerichten. Farnabe has earned a vibrant reputation in New York City’s culinary scene working at Restaurant Daniel and Jean Georges and Chef de Cuisine of Mercer Kitchen all in Manhattan. He then moved on as a private chef for Tommy Hilfiger while simultaneously consulting for Montrachet and Lotus to celebrity studded crowds.
Guests to Peter Island Resort & Spa can enjoy a week of gastronomy delights from May 9- 15, 2011. A Parisian inspired cocktail party will debut as guests will meet Executive Chef Sellers, and Chef Farnabe. An exclusive dinner at Tradewinds Restaurant will ensue on Wednesday, May 11th for guest chef participants who will enjoy signature dishes, cocktails and wines. Thursday is an interactive day as guests are treated to a tour at Paraquite Bay, a working agricultural farm on the neighbouring island of Tortola, to purchase local ingredients for the lunch tastings. That afternoon participants will don an apron and cook with the chef at the luxurious Falcons Nest Villa, preparing ingredients that were sourced earlier in the day. Saturday wraps up the culinary week with an elaborate five-course co-created wine dinner. Guests will enjoy an evening of French/Caribbean inspired menu options, complimentary wines and cocktails and of course fabulous dessert options and wines.
For overnight accommodations guests can choose among the classic A-frame Oceanfront Suites, charming Beachfront Junior Suites, or gather a group of friends or the family and opt for an elegant villa: the recently renovated Hawks Nest or Crows Nest, or stay at signature villa Falcons Nest.
