Billion-pound Scottish resort planned for world’s mega rich

An über-exclusive, £1.2bn resort for the world’s mega-rich is being planned for one of Scotland’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty. Named Dall House, the member’s only resort near Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire, will cost £2m to join with annual fees of £500,000, and rooms starting at £6,000 per night.

Members of the club must be “highest net worth individuals” with assets for £100 million. A stay at the luxury hotel would start at £6,000 per person per night, rising to £14,000 for the suites.

The Dall Estate and Malcolm James Developments have submitted plans to Perth and Kinross Council that will see the redevelopment of a former private school, reports The Telegraph.

It states the aim is to create “a world-class private members resort in one of Scotland’s most stunning settings.” It states: “The philosophy behind the vision for the development is to create the optimum in luxury which caters exclusively for guests who will enjoy the very finest experience.”

Rannoch School was closed in 2002, before being bought by Malcolm James Developments and being used as a family home.

The resort would feature a luxury hotel, a plastic surgery clinic, a health spa, two 18-hole golf courses, a clubhouse, as well as shops, leisure facilities, shops, restaurant, concert hall and up to 98 houses.

Construction would take three years, and inject £241.6million into the Scottish economy and create 2,200 jobs.

Around 500 staff would be employed in the resort’s first year, rising to 850 after two years.
