&Beyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp reopens in Botswana

&Beyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp in Botswana has reopened following an extensive refurbishment and refresh.

The camp has light and airy interiors that retain the original safari feel while giving it a fresh and glamorous new look.

The nine exclusive tented suites have undergone a complete transformation.

While the original footprint has been retained, the old tents have been replaced with simple new structures with wide overhangs for shaded outdoor living and dramatic gum pole colonnades.

Inside, the layout has been reconfigured so that the generous king-sized beds, framed with headboards made from canvas and leather strips, face the sensational Okavango Delta views.

Canvas and leather panelled walls divide the bedroom from the en-suite bathroom, which now boasts both indoor and outdoor showers, providing a heightened sense of privacy.

The simple but well-appointed interiors retain the contemporary safari club ambiance of the original camp with blackened steel and brass elements.

The hand-stitched patterns on the elegant bed linens reference the design of traditional Botswana baskets, while the bronzed calabash lamps make innovative use of the old-fashioned vessels, used by local people for serving, drinking or pouring liquids.

Delta living is all about making the most of the outdoors and the private verandas of the guest tents have been extended to create a comfortable and spacious sitting area.

Private salas with an inviting swinging bench provide the ideal space to while away the hours enjoying the magnificent landscape.

Catering for the trend towards multi-generational travel, two of the tents have been converted into an interleading family suite by means of a covered walkway.
