Belgian delegation visited the National Company “Astana EXPO-2017”

On November 19, 2013 Mr. Talgat Ermegiyaev, the Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “Astana EXPO-2017”, met with Belgian delegation headed by Mr. Michel Peetermans, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The delegation included representatives of the Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency, headed by Mr. Philippe Suinen, the Director General, as well as the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (CCI Luxembourg). Also the meeting was attended by representatives of large Belgian companies such as “Schreder (Comelek)”, “Automatic Systems”, “Belgian Advanced Technology Systems”, “Lindab SA”, “SES”, “Amos”, etc.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Management Board informed the diplomats on the Company’s activity, its goals and objectives. He noted that holding of the exhibition in Astana would promote the development of the city and the country as a whole in terms of infrastructure and employment creation.
In addition, the Chairman of the Management Board said that since the exhibition complex was originally planned as a part of new capital of Kazakhstan, in 2014 an international competition for exhibition venues construction would be announced. He assured that all information would be available on the Company’s website.

It was noted that Belgian companies have the necessary experience and technology for construction of such facilities taking into account success of several international exhibitions.

Company representatives made a presentation of the economic and investment potential of the countries of the Greater Region, European Integration Community. Presentations covered such issues as innovative solutions in the field of security in large facilities, alternative energy as well as construction. Other issues concerning cooperation in the context of the International Specialised Exhibition EXPO- 2017 in Astana were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties have agreed to continue further exchange of views and close cooperation within preparation for Expo.
