David Beckham was involved in a car crash in LA on Friday while he was taking his son to school.

The crash, which took place on the 405 freeway south of Artesia Boulevard involved David’s black Cadillac and a gold Mitsubishi which had broken down, according to the Californian Highway Patrol spokesperson.

David Beckham, who recently celebrated his 36th birthday, escaped injury and was reported to have flown to Texas for a game against FC Dallas two days later.

The midfielder, who celebrated his 36th birthday at the beginning of the week, attended last month’s royal wedding with his pregnant wife, Victoria, before flying to Texas for a game against FC Dallas two days later.
The driver of the other car was taken to hospital but did not have any serious injuries.

Beckham’s contract with LA Galaxy expires this year but he has expressed an interest to stay in the United States.

Los Angeles was recently ranked third destination for overseas visitors. In 2009, LA welcomed more than 23.8 million visitors. Direct
visitor spending totaled $11.8 billion in 2009. Growth markets include South Korea and Philippines, China and Australia
