Barceló Torre de Madrid opens in Spain

A new hotel in the heart of Madrid - Barceló Torre de Madrid - has opened its doors.

Barceló Hotel Groups’ newest five star property, Barceló Torre de Madrid is set to impress with its position in one of Madrid’s most iconic and tallest buildings.

Situated in the Plaza de España, in the capital’s popular theatre district and overlooking Gran Via, it is a great option for guests wanting to be close to the action and connect with the city like a local.

The Torre de Madrid has long been an emblem of the city.

It was for several years the tallest concrete building in the world, and until 1982 was the tallest construction in Spain.

Today it is home to 256 guestrooms, two restaurants, a bar and wellness centre, all designed to the highest quality.

The hotel has emerged from its restoration with a new look by Jaime Hayon, a renowned figure in contemporary design.

Hayon has taken inspiration from the hotel’s location, the local culture, art and fashion and injected his fun, innovative personality and international background to the look.

Sleek yet comfortable furniture, a play with mirrors and traditional photography based on Spanish folklore is seen throughout the hotel.

A spectacular bear - which is the symbol of Madrid - stands in the hotel lobby and welcomes guests on arrival.

Guests can also expect individually designed bedrooms - with state-of-the-art technology in accordance with Barceló’s B-Room concept, the brand’s maximum quality standard – and large windows offering superb views of calle Princesa, Gran Via and the Royal Palace.

There are multiple grand suites, two of which, the Princess and Royal Suites, have their own stunning, private terraces.

On the eighth floor and commanding stunning views across the city, guests will find a relaxing wellness centre home to a 12.5 metre swimming pool, sauna and sensation shower.

There is also a fitness area, fully equipped gym, an outdoor sundeck and three treatment rooms.

Barceló Torre de Madrid is the newest addition to the Barceló Hotel Group.

Madrid, Barceló Emperatriz opened in the Salamanca district in January 2016 and the Group also manages Occidental Madrid Este, Occidental Castellana Norte and Occidental Aranjuez following the acquisition of Occidental Hotels in 2015.
