Banyan Tree recognised by World Travel Awards

Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has had two of its resorts recognised at the recent World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2013.

Banyan Tree Bangkok and Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos, were honoured at the ceremony, which took place at Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa in Dubai.

Banyan Tree Bangkok took home the Asia’s Leading Business Hotel category, after being recognised as Asia’s Leading City Spa Hotel for two consecutive years in 2011-2012.

After a year-long search for the most popular travel and tourism brands in the world in 2012, Banyan Tree Bangkok was also recognised as World’s Leading City Spa Hotel at the Grand Final Gala Ceremony in New Delhi, India.

Meanwhile, Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel received the distinction of being the first hotel in Laos to win a World Travel Award, with the honour of Laos’s Leading Hotel.

Accepting the prestigious awards on behalf of Banyan Tree Bangkok and Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel was Tareq Bagaeen, area director, sales and marketing, Bangkok and Laos, Banyan Tree. 

The WTA awards program is known as the “Oscars of the travel industry” by the global media and celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2013.
