Azamara Club Cruises reveals 2014 programme highlights in latest brochure

Azamara Club Cruises, has revealed a series of special event cruises allowing guests to attend the Monaco Grand Prix, celebrate New Year’s Eve in Hong Kong or pay homage to the anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy. The new event cruises are part of the 2014 deployment programme which features a record 45 maiden ports of call.

Well-known for focusing on special events and occasions across the globe, each of the 72 itineraries featured in the cruise line’s 2014 brochure include late night departures or overnight stays in port. This allows agents to appeal to travellers who want to immerse themselves in the culture of each destination.

The cruise line’s boutique ships, Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest, will also call at a record number of new ports including Osaka (Kyoto, Japan), Kuda Bandos Island (The Maldives), Manzanillo (Mexico) and San Juan Del Sur (Nicaragua), many of which are hard to reach for larger ships.

Key special event cruises featured in the new 2014 programme include:

·      The 11-night Memories of WWII voyage – guests will be joined by Azamara Club Cruises’ president Larry Pimentel and his wife Sandi to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Landings. Cruise departs from Lisbon (Portugal) in 3 June 2014 and calls at Cherbourg (France), Dover (England) and Hamburg (Germany).

·      The eight night Formula 1 Grand Prix voyage with the opportunity to attend the Monaco Grand Prix, as well as culinary wine and food tastings in Tuscany. Cruise departs from Rome (Italy) on 19 May 2014 and calls at San Remo (Italy), Cannes (France), Saint-Tropez (France) and Monte-Carlo (Monaco).

·      For Christmas and New Year’s Eve with a difference, Azamara Club Cruises offers a 14-night New Year’s in Hong Kong sailing where guests can celebrate Christmas Day in Borneo at the famous orangutan sanctuary followed by a trek through Kinabalu National Park, before welcoming the New Year in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Alternatively, guests onboard Azamara Journey’s Christmas and New Year’s cruise can enjoy samba dancing and firework displays Rio de Janeiro with an overnight stay at Copacabana Beach.
