Avis forges ahead with rapid expansion plans across UK towns and cities

Leading car hire firm Avis Rent a Car, today announces that it has increased its local rental branches across the UK by 50%, with the opening of 37 new locations for leisure customers in the last two months.

Avis has seen rapid growth across the UK in town and city locations as widespread as Sunderland, Huddersfield and Windsor and has intentions of opening a further 100 leisure branches in 2011. This is in addition to its existing 38 airport locations and part of the company’s ongoing commitment to making its high quality car hire service accessible to leisure customers right across the UK.

21 of the new Avis branches have launched in partnership with Regus, one of the world’s largest providers of workplace solutions, enabling both small to medium business and leisure customers to book and hire Avis cars directly from their local Regus office. A further 16 locations have opened in partnership with local hotels, giving nearby residents and guests convenient access to high quality car hire so they can explore the surrounding area with ease.

Anthony Ainsworth, Commercial Director at Avis UK, comments: “50% growth of Avis’ town and city branches in just two months is a significant achievement for us and puts us another step closer to reaching our ultimate goal of having an Avis branch within a few miles of every household in the UK. Next year will see the number of Avis branches increase with a further 100+ locations, demonstrating our commitment to giving customers the choice to find a car hire solution that best suits their needs.”
