The five star Athenaeum Hotel has been announced as the official hotel partner of the World Tennis Day Showdown presented by Financial Times, coming to London for the first time on Monday March 3rd, 2014.
The London Showdown, taking place at Earls Court, will be an evening of exceptional tennis featuring former Wimbledon champions Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Pat Cash as well as multiple grand slam champion and coach to Andy Murray, Ivan Lendl.
They had one of the most iconic rivalries in tennis, and now Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi take to the court once again for the World Tennis Day Showdown.
The pair battled on court 34 times with Sampras winning 20 of those matches including both matches at Wimbledon in the 1990’s.
The London Showdown forms part of the World Tennis Day, a coordinated global series of matches, events and activities involving all levels of the game and all taking place on Monday March 3rd 2014.
In 2013, World Tennis Day activities took place in 58 countries.
