Mark Heather, Managing Director of Absolute Hotel Services India announced the appointment of Shalil Suvarna as Regional Director of Operations, effective February 1, 2012.
As Regional Director of Operations, Shalil is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition from project to operation stage for new properties/renovations within an acceptable time and budget. He will be responsible for the development, support and oversight of operations at new properties for each of the hotels and resorts under the management of Absolute Hotel Services India including branded U Hotels & Resorts, Eastin Hotels & Residences and Eastin Easy as well as all non branded hotels.
With 21 years of experience, Shalil has adapted his working styles to both City and Resort locations. Working his way upwards he initiated his career from the Front Office taking up various positions within Rooms Division along the way, finally moving up the ladder to General Management. He has been associated with Domestic and International Brands including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Carlson Hotels Worldwide and Wyndham Hotels amongst others.
A Science Graduate for
Mumbai University, Shalil is academically qualified in Hotel Management from the renowned IHM, Mumbai and has undergone Professional Development Programs from Cornell University. Twice, he has been recognised by FHRAI through their Young Hotel Manager Awards.
Prior to joining Absolute Hotel Services India he was with Wyndham Hotels as General Manager of the Ramada Powai Hotel and Convention Centre and The Residence Hotel and Apartment. Prior to this he was also instrumental in bringing to operations from projects the foremost International Brand on the outskirts of Mumbai, Radisson Blu Resort and Spa, which included the first Mandara Spa in India.
