Anantara Golden Triangle has been named ‘Thailand’s Leading Resort’ at the prestigious World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony held in Bangkok.

“What an honour it is to win this prestigious award and to be recognised by our peers in the travel industry,” said Chris Adams, general manager, Anantara Golden Triangle.

“I would like to dedicate this win to all the staff members at Anantara Golden Triangle who continuously strive to give our guests a truly unique and indigenous five star experience.”

The resorts 77 rooms and suites feature large balconies with in-built sofas with sweeping views of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.

Signature terrazzo bathtubs large enough for two people are the central feature of the bathrooms designed in a ‘flow-through’ style enabling them to be opened up to or closed off from the bedrooms.

A stunning infinity-edge swimming pool captures the views over the Mekong valley below.

Set in 160 acres of indigenous forest and landscaped gardens the undisputed highlight of a guest’s stay at the resort is the elephant camp which is now home to thirty elephants that have been rescued off the streets of Thailand.

Guests are offered the rare opportunity to learn to ‘drive’ an elephant by choosing to undertake a unique three-day mahout training course.
