Amadeus signs long-term deal with Griffin Global Group

Amadeus has signed an agreement with Griffin Global Group, a global travel agency specialised in the marine, offshore and cruise industries, renewing and extending its partnership with the agency worldwide.

This long term partnership builds on a ten-year relationship established with Griffin, who will be able to access Amadeus’ content in over 20 markets across all continents via Amadeus Selling Platform and Amadeus Web Services.

In addition, Griffin Global Group has been using Amadeus Agency Manager to optimise its mid and back office activities, increasing productivity and efficiency across multiple markets.

Simon Morse, chairman, Griffin Global Group, said: “We are pleased to expand our relationship with Amadeus whose product, strategy and geographical reach complement our own plans as we extend the scope and value of the specialist services we provide within the marine and offshore market, and our dependence on the speed and accuracy of time critical operational and financial information worldwide.”

The marine and offshore travel sector differs from traditional corporate travel. Global by nature and organised around key hubs like Singapore, Houston, Aberdeen, Dubai, Athens, Manila and Mumbai, it requires moving large groups of workers to and from a vessel or an oil rig.

Since immobilising such assets is very costly, it is mission critical for shipping and energy companies to move the right people to the right place on time.

In this context, Griffin has built its leadership position, leveraging its global presence and 24/7 service, its marine fare programme and the expertise of its agents to manage complex itineraries.
