Amadeus links with LAN Airlines of South America for content deal

Travel technology partner Amadeus and LAN Airlines have signed a multi-year full content agreement.

The deal guarantees Amadeus travel agents worldwide access to the entire range of fares, schedules and inventory relating to the more than 18 million seats sold annually by the LAN Group Airlines.

The full content agreement includes all LAN Group Airlines – which includes LAN Airlines, LAN Ecuador, LAN Perú, LAN Argentina, Aires and LAN Express - and ensures access to the same content through Amadeus as through any sales channel, including the airline’s own website.

“Amadeus is committed to securing long-term full content partnerships with the world’s leading airlines providing continued stability in the travel distribution marketplace. Under the terms of this agreement, Amadeus agents now have guaranteed access to all of the LAN group airlines content on a worldwide basis,” said Decius Valmorbida, executive vice president, Amadeus Latin America.

Amadeus has content agreements with key airlines in Latin America including AviancaTaca, Copa Airlines and TAM.

Today 80 per cent of all airline bookings sold by Amadeus travel agencies worldwide are made on airlines with content agreements.

“At LAN we are committed to grow our business operations and the Amadeus network of travel agencies plays an important role supporting our expansion in all markets,” said Sergio Mendoza, chief commercial innovation officer for LAN.

“Through this agreement we ensure that travel agencies have efficient access to the complete range of our offer and are confident they are able to offer the most comprehensive travel options to their customers,” he concluded.
