Allianz Global Assistance and Air France have announced a three-year renewal until 2016 of their international agreement, which will allow Air France passengers to subscribe to travel insurance when they purchase their airline tickets in France and 19 other countries.
Since their initial agreement in 2006, Allianz Global Assistance and Air France have continued to expand and reinforce their partnership so that passengers have access to even more guaranties to ensure total peace of mind when they travel. Today in 20 different countries Air France customers have the possibility to choose the type of travel insurance that best meets their particular needs, be it cancellation insurance, multi-risk insurance or medical assistance and repatriation.
Within this agreement, Flying Blue, Air France’s customer loyalty program, is also extending its commercial agreement with Allianz Global Assistance, which was first implemented in April 2011. This agreement hereby enables Flying Blue’s 21 million members departing from 10 countries within Europe to benefit from travel insurance for tickets purchased with bonus miles. Air France is the first and only airline company in the world to have put in place a specific travel insurance offer for its loyalty program customers.
“We are extremely proud that Air France has renewed its trust in Allianz Global Assistance by prolonging its current partnership agreement. Thanks to this renewal, we will be able to pursue a productive and successful collaboration that simplifies the lives and secures the travels of a growing number of passengers. Moreover, we anticipate reinforcing the scope of our international partnership to include, in the short term, important countries like the United States, Brazil and Russia,” declares Xavier Mauriac, Travel Director for Allianz Global Assistance Global Accounts.
“Allianz Global Assistance’s offers and its international expertise in travel insurance are valuable assets for Air France and its customers. We are delighted to prolong this win-win partnership and to continue to develop it by enabling customers to subscribe to travel insurance in new countries,” says Christian Herzog – Marketing Director for Air France – KLM.
