Discovery cruising lines, Voyages of Discovery and Swan Hellenic have announced soaring sales in the first two weeks, following the launch of the new summer 2012 brochures.
Voyages of Discovery noted a number of the 25 new and improved ports and cruises within the summer 2012 brochure as firm customer favourites. These included Heritage of British Isles (which docks at Greenwich allowing passengers to experience the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations first hand), Spitsbergen and the North Cape (features a three day exploration around Spitsbergen) Around Britain and Edinburgh Tattoo, an all new footloose cruise and popular fly-cruise the Black Sea Explorer.
Swan Hellenic saw Black Sea Odyssey, Treasures of the British Isles and St Petersburg and the Baltic accounting for nearly half of all sales taken in the first week of the summer 2012 brochure launches. Popular choices also included A French Accent, Hellenic Highlights, Gardens of the Celtic Fringe and Midsummer in Norway.
Geoff Lawrence, Sales & Marketing Director, Voyages of Discovery and Swan Hellenic added: “We are working hard with the trade to ensure they take advantage of these new itineraries and have the right support to generate sales opportunities before they sell-out. We have introduced new itineraries, ports, guest speakers and on-board entertainment programmes across both brands and customer response for summer 2012 has been phenomenal. Our dedicated planners have ensured no stone is left unturned and we are visiting new and exciting ports which, due to our size, other ships are unable to visit.”
