In other news, Alitalia said last week losses deepened in the first six months of 2012 due to higher fuel prices.
The carrier lost €201 million over the period, compared with a loss of €94 million during the same period in 2011.
Sales rose, however, by 4.1 percentage points to €1.67 billion.
In a statement Alitalia director Andrea Ragnetti said “the worst is over” and added “the second half of the year should be better than the first half”.
