Al Wasl Sports Club announces its support for the UAE’s Expo 2020 bid

Bin Fahed showcased the various activities and programmes that Al Wasl will launch as part of its initiative to support the bid, which comes under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Al Wasl Sport & Cultural Club, and His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to use all potential to activate the role of the club to be one of the main players in supporting Dubai’s bid to host this global event.

Al Wasl Club is one of the leading clubs to support the country’s efforts and translate the vision and aspiration of its wise leadership in achieving progress, prosperity and overall development.  The Chairman of Al Wasl Club spoke about extremely important matters, saying that the success of anything should have two key elements, which are the belief and faith in what you are doing. Afterwards, that will lead to being distinguished and creative. Dubai has a strong faith and a strong belief, which is taken from its leader, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who is the main builder of Dubai’s culture and who stands behind every achievement.

Bin Fahed said that Dubai reflects the success story that amazed the world, and became the talk of everyone due to its achievements within a very short period of time. This qualified Dubai to become one of the most modern and developed cities worldwide.

Dubai is also a destination for those seeking investments and stability. He also said that the emirate of Dubai possesses all the elements to host the Expo due to its history of organising world conferences and its infrastructure that is designed very carefully. Dubai has world-class airports and is home to global airliners and has a modern metro network. In addition to its luxurious hotels, skyscrapers – mainly Burj Khalifa, which is the highest in the world, shopping malls, real estate attractions that draw tourists from all over the world and, above all else, the spirit of the Emirati people.

The Chairman also asserted the need to join efforts to cooperate and coordinate among various parties to help support the Expo bid, adding that everyone living in this emirate that enjoys more than 200 nationalities from all over the world should contribute to the success of this bid.
