airberlin to roll out Sabre’s Branded Fares

airberlin group has introduced new technology services powered by Sabre that help personalise and improve the travel experience for travellers through easy purchase of customised air fare packages.

Germany’s second largest carrier has launched Sabre’s Branded Fares, allowing the airlines to market and sell their tailor-made product brands through Sabre’s leading travel marketplace.

This follows last year’s launch of airberlin’s ancillary services, including prepaid seats, meals, unaccompanied minors and prepaid baggage in the Sabre GDS.

Sabre Branded Fares allows airlines to address growing consumer demand for more personalised services that meet individual needs.

Using the solution, Sabre-connected travel agencies can now offer travellers the choice of airberlin group carriers’ brands which come with a fare and range of services that cater to different traveller needs.

From spontaneous travellers seeking a short-break to corporate travellers needing flexibility and exclusive benefits, there’s a package to suit all.

“airberlin has a clear “customer-first” growth strategy, and we have been working with them to identify new and exciting ways to make the traveller experience a seamless and more personalised one across all their sales channels,” said Harald Eisenaecher, senior vice president, Sabre Travel Network, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“Sabre Branded Fares is one of several ways we are supporting airberlin’s drive for competitive advantage, growth and a truly personalised experience for customers.

“As the airline industry evolves, we will continue to invest and create new capabilities and features that support merchandising and personalisation capabilities.”

In addition to enhancing the traveller experience, it also makes it easier for travel agents to sell branded fares, driving upsell opportunities based on brand attributes with enhanced visibility to specific brand offerings.

Travel agents using the Sabre system will be able to offer clients more informed choices and a higher level of customer service as they easily shop, compare and book airline brands with specific services that best meets their travellers’ needs.
