airBaltic and Sixt team up

Latvian national airline airBaltic and Sixt, one of the leading European providers of mobility services, have teamed up to offer more convenient travel for customers.

Michael Grimme, senior vice president, sales and marketing, airBaltic, explained: “airBaltic.com is a travel megastore offering everything from flights, to hotel bookings, insurance, sunglasses for your beach holiday, and even roses onboard.

“Selecting Sixt as our preferred partner was a natural choice as it offers our customers a reliable car rental service in any of airBaltic’s 60 destinations in Europe, Middle East, Russia and the CIS.”

To celebrate the new partnership between airBaltic and Sixt, members of BalticMiles coalition loyalty programme will earn double points for each rental anywhere in the world.

Arnis Jaudzems, Sixt general manager, Baltic, added: “Teaming up with airBaltic is an important step ahead for improving customer convenience.

“Sixt provides premium mobility services for reasonable prices, and it is important for us to offer additional benefits to customers of our partners around the world.

“I am extremely delighted that airBaltic selected Sixt as a Preferred Parnter and I am confident our customers will appreciate the one-stop-shop travel service.”

airBaltic presently serves 60 destinations with direct flights from its home base in Riga, Latvia.

From every one of these, airBaltic offers convenient connections via North Hub Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.

Sixt was awarded the title of World’s Leading Marketing Innovation by the World Travel Awards in 2011.
